This site provides statistical breakdowns of various activities of the Senate from 2000 to 2011. Statistics from 2012 onward are available from the new Senate StatsNet.
Information relating to potential double dissolution triggers, bills considered under a limitation of time, and private senators' bills from 1901 onward is now available from bills and legislation.
A sitting period is defined as a period during which the Senate adjourns for not more than 20 days (standing order 111).
