2.40The Committee recommends that the Criminal Code Amendment (State Sponsors of Terrorism) Bill 2025 be amended to add in paragraphs 29(1)(baa) and (bab) of the Intelligence Services Act 2001 reference to new Part 5.3A of the Criminal Code; in order to ensure that the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security will have the ability to monitor and review AFP counter-terrorism functions in relation to new Part 5.3A to the same extent that it currently monitors and reviews such functions in relation to Part 5.3.

2.41The Committee recommends that the Criminal Code Amendment (State Sponsors of Terrorism) Bill 2025 be passed.
