    Introduced with the Commonwealth Radioactive Waste Management (Related Amendment) Bill 2005, the bill clarifies the Commonwealth’s power to conduct activities necessary for, or incidental to, the selection of specified Commonwealth land as a site for, and the establishment and operation of, a radioactive waste management facility and the transportation of radioactive waste to the facility. The bill also specifies three Commonwealth potential sites in the Northern Territory which are to be further investigated; and provides for the Northern Territory Government and land councils to nominate potential sites.

    Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act 1997
    (ADJR Act) and the CRWM Act to make land nominations non-reviewable under the ADJR Act.

    Social Security Act 1991

    Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986
    to provide that payments made under the Commonwealth Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse are exempt from the income test;
    Bankruptcy Act 1966
    to ensure that payments made under the Commonwealth redress scheme are quarantined from the divisible property of a bankrupt; and
    Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act 1997
    to exempt decisions made under the Commonwealth redress scheme from judicial review.
