  to expand the application of the Act to men and all employers and employees in the workplace by: amending the short title of the Act to

  Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012

  ; reflecting the change in the name of the administering agency and its director; expanding the advice and education functions of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA); requiring certain employers to prepare public reports relating to gender equality indicators; providing for WGEA to monitor employer compliance; and making consequential amendments; and

  Equal Employment Opportunity (Commonwealth Authorities) Act 1987

  to make consequential amendments. Also amends the

  Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999

  to make amendments consequential on the commencement of the

  Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011

  Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918

  Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Act 1984

  to prohibit the authorisation of certain electoral and referendum matter that is inaccurate and misleading to a material extent, including material that has been modified using digital technology, such as ‘deepfakes’; and require electoral and referendum matter that has been created or modified using digital technology (including AI) to carry a statement to that effect;

  to establish an Electoral Communications Panel; and

  Broadcasting Services Act 1992

  and

  Special Broadcasting Service Act 1991

  to remove the ‘media blackout’ period that prohibits electoral or referendum advertising in the last 3 days of voting in an election or referendum.

  to: rename the Emergency Response Fund as the Disaster Ready Fund; change the title of the Act to the

  ; enable up to $200 million per financial year to be debited from the Disaster Ready Fund for natural disaster resilience and risk reduction; enable the minister to adjust the maximum disbursement amount by legislative instrument; transfer responsibility for fund expenditure to the National Emergency Management Agency; amend certain administrative arrangements in relation to transfers from the fund; and six Acts to make consequential amendments.
