Introduced with the Medical Indemnity (IBNR Indemnity) Contribution Amendment Bill 2004, the bill amends the: Medical Indemnity Act 2002 to: replace the Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) Claims Contribution with the United Medical Protection (UMP) support payment; implement the Premium Support Scheme in place of the Medical Indemnity Subsidy Scheme; and clarify the definition of health care related vocation; and Health Insurance Act 1973, Health Insurance Commission Act 1973, Medical Indemnity Act 2002 and National Health Act 1953 to make consequential amendments renaming the IBNR contribution as the UMP support payment.
