Summary

Amends the

Migration Act 1958
to: clarify the immigration clearance and immigration status of non-citizen children born in Australia; harmonise criminal offence provisions with those in the
Criminal Code Act 1995
; clarify the power to require and take a security to ensure compliance with visa conditions, before granting a visa; and clarify certain provisions in relation to the operation of bridging visas.
