Summary

Amends the:

Social Security Act 1991
to: extend eligibility for Youth Allowance and Austudy payment to full-time new apprentices, including Newstart transferees; ensure that new apprentices have access to a low-income health care card rather than an automatically issued health care card; and correct a cross reference; and
Income Tax Assessment Act 1997
,
Social Security Act 1991
and
Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986
to exempt Commonwealth Trade Learning Scholarships and the Tools for your Trade initiative from assessment as income.
