Summary

Amends the

Quarantine Act 1908
to: extend the application of the Act to Christmas Island; improve arrangements for the payment of fees; broaden the range of persons who may be appointed as quarantine officers; and make clarifying amendments;
Imported Food Control Act 1992
to: insert an objective into the Act; provide for the use of agreements; and allow for the importation of food that does not meet applicable labelling standards, but create an offence if that food is sold by the importer without corrected labelling; and
Pig Industry Act 2001
and
Wool Services Privatisation Act 2000
to allow Australian Pork Limited and Australian Wool Innovation Limited to carry forward research and development expenditure eligible for Commonwealth matching contributions from one financial year to the next.
