The department’s Gifts, Benefits and Official Hospitality Policy recommends that employees do not accept any gifts or benefits in their role within the department. However, there are times when it is appropriate to accept such offers.
In these circumstances, and consistent with better practice across the public sector, employees are required to report any gift, benefit or official hospitality accepted, valued at over $100.
The department updates this register quarterly and publishes it on the Parliament of Australia website by 31 January, 30 April, 31 July and 31 October each year.
