The Parliamentary Leadership Taskforce met on 31 January 2024 to finalise its second annual update on the implementation of recommendations from the Set the Standard report. The Taskforce’s annual report outlines the achievements to date, the status of each of the 28 recommendations and the responsibility for continued action.
Taskforce members noted that while significant progress has been achieved, some reforms are implemented in part or still in progress, including the establishment of the proposed Independent Parliamentary Standards Commission. Given the Taskforce’s commitment to ensuring lasting change for everyone in commonwealth parliamentary workplaces, it was agreed that the timeframe of the Taskforce be extended until October 2024, with members to continue to oversee the implementation of these important reforms.
