Corrigendum

In the final chapter of this report a comparison is made between the total income of the Catholic education system and other non-government schools with the average recurrent costs of educating primary and secondary students in government schools.

Since tabling this report, the committee has found that the report underestimates the projected total income of the non-government school sector when compared to projections for Average Government School Recurrent Costs (AGSRC), the measure used by the Commonwealth Government.

In 2004 the Catholic education system will have an estimated income that is 15.2 per cent higher than the estimated cost of educating students at AGSRC levels. Other non-government schools will have an income that is 52.2 per cent higher
