  Product Stewardship (Oil) Act 2000

  to exempt certain multi-use oils and uses of multi-use oils from the Product Stewardship (Oil) levy by creating a new category of benefit which will be paid for uses of certain oils as approved by the Minister; and

  Product Grants and Benefits Administration Act 2000

  to make consequential amendments to enable the new category claimants to register for benefits. Also contains a transitional provision.

  to: reduce the effective tax rate on the excessive component of an eligible termination payment or death benefit from a superannuation fund; and reduce the amount of contributions subject to the superannuation surcharge;

  Amends: the

  Trade Practices Act 1974

  to: clarify the ability of State and Territory access regimes to confer duties upon the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the Australian Competition Tribunal (ACT) and the conditions under which a law of a State or Territory may confer functions, powers and duties upon the ACCC or ACT. Also repeals the

  Prices Surveillance Act 1983

  and replaces it with a new part in the

  Trade Practices Act 1974

  which preserves the existing prices surveillance powers; and provides for a body other than the ACCC to hold a price inquiry; amends the:

  Airports Act 1996

  Air Services Act 1995

  ,

  Australian Maritime Safety Authority Act 1990

  and

  Australia Postal Corporation Act 1989

  to make consequential amendments;

  Australian Crime Commission Act 2002

  to: restructure the military discipline system; and reflect the general principles of criminal responsibility in the

  Criminal Code Act 1995

  to: increase the penalties for persons falsely representing themselves to be returned service personnel or for improperly using medals or decorations; and clarify the regulation-making powers in relation to defence inquiries;

  Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990

  to permit certain ex-members of the Australian Defence Force to apply for a home loan subsidy beyond the current 2-year eligibility period;

  Defence Legislation Amendment (Application of Criminal Code) Act 2001

  to clarify that its commencement date is 15 December 2001;

  Defence Reserve Service (Protection) Act 2001

  to correct a cross-reference; and 6 Acts to modernise the titles of the Cadet Corps. Also amends the Defence Legislation Amendment (Application of Criminal Code) Regulations 2001 (No. 1) and Defence Legislation Amendment (Application of Criminal Code) Regulations 2001 (No. 2) to clarify that their commencement date is 15 December 2001.
