Parliamentary Joint Committee on Law Enforcement

The committee’s functions include:

  • monitoring and reviewing the performance of the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP);
  • examining the annual reports of the ACIC and the AFP; and
  • examining trends and changes in criminal activities, practices and methods, and reporting to Parliament on desirable changes to the functions, structure, powers and procedures of the ACIC or the AFP.
