On 18 June 2015 the Senate referred the following matter for inquiry and report by 8 April 2016:

Threat of marine plastic pollution in Australia.

The closing date for submissions is 10 September 2015. The closing date for submissions has now been extended to 9 October 2015.

The committee presented an interim report on 31 March 2016. The committee presented a second interim report on 12 April 2016.

The final report was presented on 20 April 2016.
