Interim Report: The administration and reporting of NAPLAN testing

1.1 On 13 May 2010 the Senate referred the administration and reporting of NAPLAN testing to the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations References Committee for inquiry and report by 13 August 2010.

1.2 The committee has received 270 submissions and had intended to hold a public hearing in late July 2010 to discuss the evidence put before it. However, due to the calling of the Federal election, this hearing date is no longer suitable.

1.3 Due to the need to hold a public hearing before reporting, the committee will not be able to provide its final report to the Senate by 13 August 2010. Instead, the committee intends to make a recommendation to the new Parliament regarding the continuation of this reference in due course.
