Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security

Under section 29 of the Intelligence Services Act 2001 there are two main activities that the PJCIS is tasked with. These are:

  1. conducting a Review of the Administration and Expenditure of the Australian Intelligence Community; and

  2. preparing an Annual Report of Committee Activities for the Parliament.

In addition, under Section 102.1A of the Criminal Code, the Committee may review the listing of organisations as terrorist organisations.

The Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security was previously known as the Parliamentary Joint Committee on ASIO, ASIS and DSD.
