Australia's Efforts to Promote and Protect Freedom of Religion and Belief

On 28 April 1999 the Minister for Foreign Affairs asked the Committee to inquire into freedom of religion and belief. That inquiry is being undertaken by the Human Rights Sub-Committee, chaired by Mr Peter Nugent MP.

Written submissions are invited from organisations and individuals interested in placing evidence before the Committee. Submissions were requested by 30 June 1999. Late submissions may be considered and people wishing to make a late submission should contact the Committee Secretariat. Submissions are to be prepared with reference to the guidelines on making a submission.
