Parliamentary Inquiry into the Child Support Program

On 27 March 2014, the Minister for Social Services, the Hon Kevin Andrews MP, asked the Committee to inquire into and report on the Child Support Program.

The Committee created an online questionnaire for individuals to complete. The questionnaire enabled people with an experience of the Child Support Program to make a personal contribution to the inquiry, and enabled the Committee to understand the individual experiences of a broad range of people. The Committee received over 11,000 responses and has published a series of Snapshots which give an overview of the responses received. You can view the snapshots at this link

As part of its hearings, the Committee held ‘community statement sessions’, which provided individuals with the opportunity to make short statements to the Committee about the inquiry’s terms of reference. The Committee also sought submissions to the inquiry from stakeholder groups and experts.

The Committee tabled its report From conflict to cooperation: Inquiry into the Child Support Program on 20 July 2015.
