Inquiry into the role of Technical and Further Education system and its operation

On Wednesday 26 February 2014 the Committee adopted an inquiry referred by the Minister for Industry, Hon Ian Macfarlane MP, asking the Committee to inquire into and report on the role of Technical and Further Education system and its operation.

The Committee tabled its report on 24 November 2014.

About this inquiry

The Committee will inquire into and report on the role played by TAFEs in:

  • the development of skills in the Australian economy
  • the provision of pathways for Australians to access employment
  • the provision of pathways for Australians to access University education; and
  • the operation of a competitive training market
