Summary

Amends the Schools Assistance (Learning Together—Achievement Through Choice and Opportunity) Act 2004 to: include a new definition of “special assistance school” to ensure maximum general recurrent funding to non-government schools that cater primarily for students with social, emotion of behavioural difficulties who are at risk of leaving mainstream schooling; vary the grant years of certain capital infrastructure grant funding; include a regulation-making power to allow programme funding to be varied to another programme year without needing to amend the Act; move unspent Tutorial Voucher Initiative funding for 2004 under the States Grants (Primary and Secondary Education Assistance) Act 2000 to the 2006 year of the National Projects element of the Literacy, Numeracy and Special Learning Needs Programme under the Act; and correct a cross reference.
