Service on non-parliamentary organisations

Members of the House are appointed by motion in the House to serve on the following bodies for the periods indicated:

  • Advisory Council on Australian Archives (one Member)—for a period as is fixed by the House, not exceeding three years;[186]
  • Council of the National Library of Australia (one Member)—for a period as is fixed by the House, not exceeding three years;[187] and
  • Parliamentary Retiring Allowances Trust (two Members)—while remaining a Member.[188]

Details of Members appointed to these bodies are printed in the Notice Paper. The House may discharge or replace the Members it has appointed.
