Welcome to Parliament House tour (free)

This free tour is a great way to learn about some of the features of Parliament House with one of our friendly guides.

Times: 9.30am, 11.00am, 1.00pm, 2.00pm, and 3.30pm every day (except Christmas)

Duration: 40 minutes

 

In-depth tours (paid)

Every day we offer in-depth paid tours. Some of these tours explore the building and the Parliament in more detail while others explore special stories of the collections and people at Parliament House. These tours rotate throughout the year.

For security purposes, participants must present photo identification for all behind the scenes tours of the building. In the event a patron does not have this, they will be unable to participate.

Parliamentary sitting days:

On days when Parliament is sitting these tours will explore highlights in the public spaces of the building. Get more out of your visit by combining an in-depth tour with a visit to Question Time to see Parliament in action.

Times: 10.00am, 12.00 noon, and 3.00pm every day (except Christmas)

Duration: 55 minutes

Cost:  Adults $15, Concession/Child $10

Non-sitting days:

When Parliament is not sitting paid tours may go behind the scenes, providing a special opportunity to explore some of the building’s private spaces. ‘Behind the scenes’ tours are only available on non-sitting days.

Times: 10.00am, 12.00 noon, and 3.00pm every day (except Christmas)

Duration: 55 minutes

Cost: $25, Concession/Child: $20

Private tours

Great Hall

Private tours of the building are available to members of the public and visiting tour groups.  If you are visiting with a larger group or would like a more personalised experience we recommend that you consider pre-booking a private tour. Special interest tours led by specialist staff may also be available at the time of your visit. Pre-booking is required for all private tours. A minimum of 20 people is required for private tours. Please submit a private tour booking form to visitorservices@aph.gov.au 

Duration: 60 minutes

Cost:     

Tour led by Visitor Services Officers:

Weekdays during regular business hours:  $25 per person

Weekends and after hours:  $30 per person

Tour led by specialist staff (e.g. landscape gardener, heritage officer, art curator, etc.):

Non-sitting weekdays during regular business hours:  $30 per person

Weekends and after hours:  $60 per person

Graduate tours

House of Representatives Chamber

Graduate tours are available to Government Department Graduate Programs, at a cost of $5.00 per Graduate. Graduate Tours are available 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, including sitting and non-sitting periods. Minimum numbers apply. Bookings are essential, please complete the graduate tour booking form and submit it to visitor.services@aph.gov.au
