SELECTION OF BILLS COMMITTEE

REPORT NO. 7 OF 2011

1. The committee met in private session on Tuesday, 14 June 2011 at 7.27 pm.
   
   
2. The committee resolved to recommend—That—
   
   
1. upon its introduction in the Senate, Schedule 4 of the Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and Other Legislation Amendment (Further Election Commitments and Other Measures) Bill 2011 be referred immediately to the Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 22 June 2011 (see appendix 1 for a statement of reasons for referral);
2. the provisions of Schedule 5 of the Tax Laws Amendment (2011 Measures No. 5) Bill 2011 be referred immediately to the Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 21 June 2011 (see appendix 2 for a statement of reasons for referral); and
3. the provisions of the Veterans’ Entitlements Amendment Bill 2011 be referred immediately to the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 August 2011 (see appendix 3 for a statement of reasons for referral).

The committee recommends accordingly.
