SELECTION OF BILLS COMMITTEE
REPORT NO. 15 OF 2010
- The committee met in private session on Thursday, 25 November 2010 at 6.37 pm.
- The committee resolved to recommend—That—
- the Food Standards Amendment (Truth in Labelling—Genetically Modified Material) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 June 2011 (see appendix 1 for a statement of reasons for referral); and
- the Patent Amendment (Human Genes and Biological Materials) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 June 2011 (see appendix 2 for a statement of reasons for referral).
- The committee resolved to recommend—That the following bills not be referred to committees:
- Assisting Victims of Overseas Terrorism Bill 2010
- Banking Amendment (Controls on Variable Interest Rate Changes) Bill 2010
- Broadcasting Legislation Amendment (Anti-Siphoning) Bill 2010
- Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits Amendment (Fair Indexation) Bill 2010
- Family Law Amendment (Validation of Certain Parenting Orders and Other Measures) Bill 2010
- Health Insurance Amendment (Compliance) Bill 2010

The committee recommends accordingly.
