Senate Committees
Senate Standing Committees on Environment, Communications and the Arts
Standing order 25 provides for the appointment of a legislative and general purpose standing committee on Environment, Communications and the Arts.

The committee has had the following name changes in recent Parliaments:
- 1994-98 — Environment, Recreation, Communications and the Arts
- 1998-2008 — Environment, Communications, Information Technology and the Arts
- 2008 — Environment, Communications and the Arts
The Environment, Communications and the Arts portfolio coverage includes Environment,
Water, Heritage and the Arts and Broadband, Communications and the Digital
Economy.
Prior to 11 September 2006 the Senate legislative and general purpose standing committees comprised eight pairs of legislation and references committees. From 11 September the pairs of legislation and references committees ceased to exist, with each pair being combined into a single legislative and general purpose standing committee.
