Inquiry into home loan lending practices and processes

The committee under its power to inquire into and report on the annual reports of government agencies, will examine home loan lending practices and the processes used to deal with people in financial difficulty.

The annual reports used to initiate this inquiry are those of the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.

The committee expects to report on or before 17 September 2007.
