Summary

The bill: gives effect to certain Commonwealth obligations under Regional Forest Agreements (RFAs); provides legislative support to the National Forest Policy Statement and Forest and Wood Products Action Agenda; and provides for the continuation of the Forest and Wood Products Council. Also amends the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 to ensure that it contains identical provisions to the proposed Regional Forest Agreements Act 2002 in relation to its application to RFA forestry operations.
