Summary: Amends the:
Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000
to implement recommendations of the 3-year review of the Act, particularly in relation to: application of the “fit and proper” test; clarification of obligations in relation to receipt of course money and provision of refunds; automatic suspension for failure to pay the Annual Registration Charge; removal of a suspension on payment of outstanding amounts; and access to student information by Tuition Assurance Schemes; and
Education Services for Overseas Students (Registration Charges) Act 1997
to require a provider to pay an initial registration charge before registration.
