Summary
Provides for a once only payment to former prisoners-of-war of the North Koreans or their surviving spouse; and amends the
Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986
to: index above general rate disability pensions; introduce a Defence Force Income Support Allowance; ensure appropriate rent assistance for war widows and widowers; increase funeral benefits; and extend operational service to minesweeping and bomb/mine clearance personnel. Also contains an application provision.
