- Amends the
Criminal Code Act 1995
to re-enact counter-terrorism offences as Commonwealth provisions capable of operating throughout Australia, without any constitutional limitations, by virtue of the reference of powers by the States; and Security Legislation Amendment (Terrorism) Act 2002
to add this proposed Act to the list of counter-terrorism legislation that is subject to a public and independent review mechanism. Also contains transitional provisions.
