Chapter 18 - Divisions

105  Divisions in committee

Divisions shall be called for and taken in committee in the same manner as in the Senate.

Amendment history

Adopted: 19 August 1903 as SO 176

1989 revision: Old SO 184 renumbered as SO 105; language modernised by replacing “demanded” with “called for”

Commentary

There is no difference in the method for taking a division in committee of the whole. The only practical difference is that the Chair is closer to the clerks and tellers and does not stand to announce the result as is sometimes the case in the Senate.
