To Whom It May Concern,

Australia was settled as a result of British
"mandatory sentencing".

Amazing that we learn so little from history.
Australian politicans are developing a reputation for
taking up systems that have been proven to fail in
Britain or America.

This one proved to fail well over two hundred years
ago.

What needs to happen is to support people with
adequate housing, education, health and WORK.

We need to give assistance to families who are failing
in their parenting techniques. 

All this requires money. It also requires politicans
who are able to think beyond the next election and are
willing to consider the well being of the nation. Not
just their campaign donors.

I'm afraid only you have the solutions.
