Inquiry into certain aspects of the administration of the Australian Electoral Commission

On 28 March 2007 the Special Minister of State, The Hon Gary Nairn MP, asked the Committee to inquire into and report on aspects of administration of the Australian Electoral Commission on or before 17 September 2007.

On 21 May 2007, the Special Minister of State, The Hon Gary Nairn MP, asked the Committee to include additional terms of reference for its inquiry to consider whether the National Tally Room should be retained beyond the 2007 federal election.

The Committee has extended the closing date for submissions and now invites interested persons and organisations to make submissions addressing the terms of reference by 22 June 2007. Please refer to our brochure called preparing a submission for more information.

In order to facilitate electronic publishing of submissions, the Committee would prefer them to be emailed to jscem@aph.gov.au or sent on disk or CD-ROM to the Committee Secretariat in Microsoft Word® or Portable Document Format (PDF).
