Location: Presiding Officers’ Exhibition Area (level 1)
Step back in time with the Parliament House Art Collection as we revisit art, craft and design from the 1980s. An important decade in the development of contemporary art, the 1980s saw a sharp increase in the diversity and volume of art, craft and design practice across Australia. Rapid advances in technology including the introduction of home computers and video recorders together with the development of new materials including plastics and laminates gave artists a broad palette with which to create and design new works.
