Enjoy a roaming food service showcasing regional produce, and a selection of Canberra’s best wines. Channel your ‘inner Bond’ at the Martini Bar and be entertained by cool and seductive rhythms.

As the party winds down, head to the forecourt and see the festival’s themes come to life in captivating projections inspired by the Parliament House Art Collection.

Take a fascinating journey through the ages with renowned geologist Wolf Mayer. Explore the wide variety of stone used in the architecture of Parliament House, and finish with a visit to our unexpected treasure—the Unconformity—a rare rock formation, where two rock masses, ten million years apart in age, meet.

As this two-hour walking tour will go behind the scenes at Parliament House, please wear comfortable closed shoes.

Popular ABC documentary The House turned the spotlight on the unexpected behind-the-scenes world of Parliament House. Join one of the stars, Director of the Parliament House Art Collection Justine van Mourik, as she reveals some of the most unusual and beautiful treasures in the collection and gives you the inside scoop on what goes into helping our parliamentarians select artworks for their offices. Stroll behind the scenes to see what’s on the walls of Parliament House, discuss art over a drink and tour the underground Art Store. Tour includes a glass of bubbly.

This is a two-and-a-half-hour behind-the-scenes walking tour, please wear comfortable shoes.

Important information

Photo identification required

For security purposes, participants must present photo identification and ticket confirmation for all ticketed events and tours. In the event a patron does not have these, they will be unable to participate. Ticket holders for the masquerade event will need to remove their mask for photo identification. We recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes before your event or tour for screening and check-in.

Parking

Parking in the underground car park is free on weekends and for the first two hours on weekdays. Paid parking machines are prominently located at the end of the carpark closest to the main entrance.
