MATTERS REFERRED TO COMMITTEE IN PREVIOUS PARLIAMENT

Senator Moore, at the request of the Chair of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee (Senator Bishop), tabled the following report:

The Senate Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee met on 14 February 2008 and considered references not disposed of at the end of the 41st Parliament and resolved to recommend to the Senate:

The committee also resolved to recommend to the Senate:

2.       That the committee continue to monitor progress on the implementation of reforms to Australia's military justice system and to report to the Senate on its findings.

Further, the committee resolved to recommend to the Senate that, in respect of this matter, it have the power to consider and use the records of the Senate Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee adopted in the previous Parliament.

Senator Moore moved—That the report be adopted.
