Report on Annual Reports (No. 2 of 2022)

This is the second Senate Community Affairs Legislation Committee (committee) report on annual reports for 2022. Under Standing Order 25(20), the annual reports of departments and agencies within the Health Portfolio and Social Services Portfolio, including Services Australia, are referred to the committee for examination and report.
Standing Order 25(20)(f) requires that annual reports tabled by 31 October each year are reported on by the tenth sitting day of the following year, and annual reports tabled by 30 April each year are reported on by the tenth sitting day after 30 June of that year. For the 2021–2022 reporting year, annual reports of the departments and agencies within the committee's allocated portfolios were tabled in time for consideration in the committee's first report on annual reports for 2022. That report was tabled out of sitting on 20 June 2022.1
The committee notes the following documents were presented to the Senate and referred to the committee, between 1 November 2021 and 4 August 2022. These documents are not required to be examined under Standing Order 25(20):
Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency—Quarterly Report for the period October to December 2021 (tabled on 21 April 2022);
Research Involving Human Embryos Act 2002—Report on the operation of the Act from 1 September 2021 to 28 February 2022 (tabled on 30 June 2022); and
Australian Institute of Health and Welfare—Australia’s Health 2022- data insights (tabled on 7 July 2022).
