Inquiry into the use of electronic devices in the House of Representatives Chamber and Federation Chamber

On 27 February 2014, the Committee adopted an inquiry into the use of electronic devices in the House of Representatives Chamber and Federation Chamber.

Members increasingly use electronic devices, particularly hand-held devices, for communications from the Chamber. This is an issue that has been considered by a number of parliaments. The Committee is considering whether there is currently sufficient regulation and guidance on the use of electronic devices in the Chamber or whether there needs to be additional guidance or restriction.
