Inquiry into a New Regional Development Funding Program

The Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, The Hon Anthony Albanese MP, has asked the Committee to inquire into and report on the Australian National Audit Office’s Performance Audit of the Regional Partnerships Program and make recommendations on ways to invest funding in genuine regional economic development and community infrastructure with the aim of enhancing the sustainability and livability of Australia’s regions by 30 November 2008.

The Committee invites interested persons and organisations to make submissions addressing the terms of reference. Please note that the closing date for submissions has been extended to Monday 14 July 2008. You are encouraged to read the information in our brochure called preparing a submission before lodging your submission.

In order to facilitate electronic publishing of submissions, the Committee would prefer them to be emailed to itrdlg.reps@aph.gov.au or sent on disk or CD-ROM to the Committee Secretariat in Microsoft Word^® or Portable Document Format (PDF).
