General information about the consideration of the 2005-06 additional estimates (membership of committees, portfolio allocation, terms of reference etc.) is available on the Senate web page.

An agenda for each of the legislation committees listed below is available on the Senate webpage and will be updated as necessary.

The Senate Daily Summary will be published each day after the legislation committees meet. The Summary will give a brief overview on the progress made by each committee and the business each committee expects to consider the next day.

The eight Senate Legislation Committees will meet to consider the 2005-06 additional estimates. Meetings are scheduled from Monday to Thursday, with spillovers on Friday, if required.

The following committees will meet on Monday and Tuesday to consider the following portfolios:

  • Finance and Public Administration Legislation Committee
    • Parliament
    • Prime Minister and Cabinet

  • Legal and Constitutional Legislation Committee
    • Attorney-General
    • Immigration and Multicultural Affairs
  • Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee
    • Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
    • Transport and Regional Services

The following committees will meet on Wednesday and Thursday to consider the following portfolios:

  • Community Affairs Legislation Committee
    • Family, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs
    • Health and Ageing
  • Economics Legislation Committee
    • Industry, Tourism and Resources
    • Treasury
  • Employment, Workplace Relations and Education Legislation Committee
    • Education, Science and Training
    • Employment and Workplace Relations
  • Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee
    • Defence (including Veterans’ Affairs)
    • Foreign Affairs and Trade
