The Chair of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Ordinances withdrew notices to disallow the following delegated legislation that prohibits the broadcasting on certain television services of programs that encourage people to join or finance terrorist organisations:

The Senate did not agree to refer matters relating to Australia ’s national and international policing requirements to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee.

Public meeting

The Senate authorised the Public Works Joint Committee to hold a public meeting while the Senate is sitting on Thursday, 14 September from 3.30pm for the committee’s inquiry into the provisions of facilities for project single LEAP.

Questions on notice–failure to provide answers

Senator Allison asked the Minister representing the Minister for Health and Ageing why answers had not been provided to questions on notice nos 2005 and 2006 asked on 13 June 2006 relating to the Medicare Benefits Consultative Committee and weight management respectively. The Minister was not present in the chamber to provide an explanation.
