As debate on the Prohibition of Human Cloning for Reproduction and the Regulation of Human Embryo Research Amendment Bill 2006 has concluded, the Government has listed the following bills for consideration:

Public meeting

The Senate authorised the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee to hold a public meeting while the Senate is sitting on 10 November 2006 from 9am for the committee’s inquiry into the Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and Veterans’ Affairs Legislation Amendment (2006 Budget Measures) Bill 2006.

Reporting date extended

The Senate agreed to extend the reporting date for the inquiry of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee into the Australian Participants in British Nuclear Tests (Treatment) Bill 2006 and a related bill to 8 November 2006.
