An agenda for each of the legislation committees listed below is available on the Senate webpage and will be updated as necessary.

The Senate Daily Summary will be published each day after the legislation committees meet. The Summary will give a brief overview on the progress made by each committee and the business each committee expects to consider to the next day.

Environment, Communications, Information Technology and the Arts Legislation Committee
Portfolios allocated: Communications, Information Technology and the Arts; Environment and Heritage

The committee:

  • completed the Communications, Information Technology and the Arts portfolio (completed outcomes 1 and 2)
  • will commence the Environment and Heritage (outcomes 1 and 2) when it meets on Thursday 25 May 2006 in Senate Committee Room 2S3

Finance and Public Administration Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Finance and Administration; Parliament; Prime Minister and Cabinet

The committee:

  • continued the Finance and Administration portfolio (completed outcomes 1 and 2 of the department)

Legal and Constitutional Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Attorney-General; Immigration and Multicultural Affairs

Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Transport and Regional Services

  • will continue the Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry portfolio (Biosecurity Australia, International, Product Integrity, Animal and Plant Health, Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service, Rural Policy and Innovation, Fisheries and Forestry, and Natural Resource Management) when it meets on Thursday 25 May 2006 in House of Representatives Committee Room 2R1
