Environment, Communications, Information Technology and the Arts Committee

Portfolios allocated: Communications, Information Technology and the Arts; Environment and Water Resources
For current information about the committee's hearings

The committee met from 9.00am until 10.54pm.

The committee called:

  • the department and agencies of the Communications, Information Technology and the Arts portfolio; and
  • the department and agencies of the Environment and Water Resources portfolio, including: the Australian Government Antarctic Division, the Bureau of Meteorology, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust.

The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 22 May 2007 in Senate Committee Room 2S3, again calling the Environment and Water Resources portfolio, commencing with the Director of National Parks and the Parks Australia Division.

 

Finance and Public Administration Committee

Portfolios allocated: Finance and Administration; Human Services; Parliament; Prime Minister and Cabinet
For current information about the committee's hearings

The committee met from 9.01am until 10.58pm.

The committee called the Department of the Senate, the Department of Parliamentary Services, and the department and agencies of the Prime Minister and Cabinet portfolio, including the Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

The committee will next meet on Tuesday 22 May 2007 in Senate Committee Room 2S1, again calling the Prime Minister and Cabinet portfolio, commencing with the Australian Public Service Commission.

 

Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee

Portfolios allocated: Attorney-General; Immigration and Citizenship

The committee met from 9.00am until 11.00pm.

The committee called the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 22 May 2007 in the Main Committee Room, again calling the Immigration and Citizenship portfolio, commencing with the Refugee Review Tribunal and the Migration Review Tribunal.

 

Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Committee

Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Transport and Regional Services

The committee met from 9.00am until 10.55pm.

The committee called the department and agencies of the Transport and Regional Services portfolio, including: AusLink, Maritime and Land Transport, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.

The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 22 May 2007 in House of Representatives Committee Room 2R1, again calling the Transport and Regional Services portfolio, and continuing with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
