The Senate met from 9.30am until 7.02pm

Additional estimates 2004-05

The Minister for Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs tabled the particulars of proposed additional expenditure for 2004-05 [the amounts contained in the appropriation bills]. The Senate agreed to a motion moved by the Minister to refer the particulars, the final budget outcome 2003-04 and the Issues from the Advance to the Finance Minister to legislation committees for examination and report. [This motion initiates the additional estimates hearings process.] Portfolio additional estimates statements for the Department of the Senate and portfolio and executive departments were also tabled [and see Committees, Estimates]
