Environment, Communications and the Arts Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Broadband, Communications, and the Digital Economy; Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts

The committee met from 9.03 am until 11 pm.

The committee:

  • called the department and agencies of the Environment, Water, Heritage the Arts portfolio, including the Supervising Scientist, the Bureau of Meteorology, the Director of National Parks, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the National Water Commission and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority; and
  • concluded its hearings.

 

Finance and Public Administration Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Finance and Deregulation; Human Services; Parliament; Prime Minister and Cabinet
For current information about the committee's hearings

The committee met from 9.02 am until 11.05 pm.

The committee:

  • called the department and agencies of the Finance and Deregulation portfolio, including the Future Fund Management Agency and the Australian Electoral Commission;
  • called the department and agencies of the Human Services portfolio, including Centrelink; and
  • concluded its hearings.

 

Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Attorney-General; Immigration and Citizenship

The committee met from 9 am until 11 pm.

The committee:

  • called the department and agencies of the Immigration and Citizenship portfolio, including the Migration Review Tribunal, the Refugee Review Tribunal and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship; and
  • concluded its hearings.

 

Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government

The committee met from 9 am until 10.10 pm.

The committee:

  • called the department and agencies of the Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government portfolio, including Infrastructure Australia, the Australian Rail Track Corporation Ltd, the Nation Building-Infrastructure Investment, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics, Office of Northern Australia, Inspector of Transport Security/Office of Transport Security, Aviation and Airports, Airservices Australia, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau; and
  • the committee intends to meet next week to further consider the department and agencies of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry portfolio.
