Legislation

For bills and related documents

After a series of procedural processes, the Senate agreed to a motion varying the hours of meeting and routine of business for 25 November and establishing 26 November 2010 as a further sitting day.

For further information relating to the procedural processes, see the Journals of the Senate.

For details of the debate, see Senate Hansard.

The motion also ordered that the Telecommunications Legislation Amendment (Competition and Consumer Safeguards) Bill 2010 be considered under a limitation of time, which resulted in the bill being considered for the remainder of the day. 10 Australian Greens and 8 Senator Xenophon amendments were agreed to. Further amendments remain to be considered [see Journals of the Senate entries nos 3, 5 and 7].

Question time was held at the usual time of 2.00 pm.
