2010-11 Budget estimates

Environment, Communications and the Arts Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Broadband, Communications, and the Digital Economy; Climate Change and Energy Efficiency; Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts

The committee met from 9.00 am until 11.00 pm.

The committee again called the department and agencies of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts portfolio, including the Bureau of Meteorology, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the Office of the Supervising Scientist, the Director of National Parks and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority.

The committee will next meet on Thursday, 27 May 2010 in Senate Committee Room 2S3, calling the department and the agency of the Climate Change and Energy Efficiency portfolio, commencing with the department.

Finance and Public Administration Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Finance and Deregulation; Human Services; Parliament; Prime Minister and Cabinet

The committee met from 9.10 am until 9.06 pm.

The committee called the department and agencies of the Finance and Deregulation portfolio, including the Future Fund Management Agency, ComSuper, Australian Reward Investment Alliance and Medibank Private.

The committee will next meet on Thursday, 27 May 2010 in Senate Committee Room 2S1:

  • again calling the department and agencies of the Finance and Deregulation portfolio, commencing with the department; and
  • the department and agencies of the Human Services portfolio, commencing with the department.

Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Attorney-General; Immigration and Citizenship

The committee called the department and agencies of the Immigration and Citizenship portfolio, including the Migration Review Tribunal and the Refugee Review Tribunal.
The committee will next meet on Thursday, 27 May 2010 in the Main Committee Room, again calling the department and agencies of the Immigration and Citizenship portfolio, commencing with the department.

Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government

The committee met from 9.00 am until 7.25 pm.

The committee called the department and agencies of the Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government portfolio, including Infrastructure Australia, Nation Building-Infrastructure Investment and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

The committee will next meet on Thursday, 27 May 2010 in House of Representatives Committee Room 2R1, again calling the department and agencies of the Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government portfolio, commencing with the department.
