Environment, Communications and the Arts Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Broadband, Communications, and the Digital Economy; Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts

The committee met from 9.04am until 10.26pm.

The committee called the department and agencies of the Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy portfolio, including Australia Post, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the Special Broadcasting Service and the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 26 May 2009 in Senate Committee Room 2S3, again calling the Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy portfolio, commencing with the department.

Finance and Public Administration Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Finance and Deregulation; Human Services; Parliament; Prime Minister and Cabinet

The committee called the Department of the Senate, the Department of Parliamentary Services, and the department and agencies of the Prime Minister and Cabinet portfolio, including the Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 26 May 2009 in Senate Committee Room 2S1, again calling the department and agencies of the Prime Minister and Cabinet portfolio, commencing with the department.

Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Attorney-General; Immigration and Citizenship

The committee met from 9.00am until 11.00pm.

The committee called the department and agencies of the Attorney-General's portfolio, including the Australian Human Rights Commission, the Australian Law Reform Commission, AUSTRAC, the Classification Board, the Classification Review Board, the Family Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia, the Federal Magistrates Court and the National Native Title Tribunal.

The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 26 May 2009 in the Main Committee Room, again calling the Attorney-General's portfolio, commencing with the Australian Federal Police.

Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government

The committee met from 9.00am until 11.00pm.

The committee called the department and agencies of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry portfolio, including Land and Water Australia, Wheat Exports Australia, Meat and Livestock Australia and the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics.

The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 26 May 2009 in House of Representatives Committee Room 2R1, again calling the Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry portfolio, commencing with the department.
