  • Telstra (Transition to Full Private Ownership) Bill 2005 and Telecommunications Legislation Amendment (Competition and Consumer Issues) Bill 2005–second reading debate continued [A Green amendment to postpone consideration of the bills until 4 October 2005 to be detirmined]

The following message from the House of Representatives was reported

  • Postal Industry Ombudsman Bill 2005–The message reported that the House of Representatives agreed to the bill with an amendment [The Senate will now consider the message on a future sitting day]

The following bills were exempted from the cut-off order [to enable consideration this period of sittings]

  • Appropriation (Regional Telecommunications Services) Bill 2005-2006
  • Telecommunications (Carrier Licence Charges) Amendment (Industry Plans and Consumer Codes) Bill 2005
  • Telecommunications Legislation Amendment (Future Proofing and Other Measures) Bill 2005

A notice of intention was given by the Chair of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Ordinances to withdraw notices to disallow the following delegated legislation:

  • Export Control (Meat and Meat Products) Amendment Orders 2005 (No. 1), made under regulation 3 of the Export Control (Order) Regulations 1982
  • Modification Declaration No.1, made under section 177 of the Retirement Savings Account Act 1997
